Beginning of the Year Info.

There is so much that happens at the beginning of the year, and at times can be overwhelming!  I will make sure to post any important forms that get sent home here! 


Some important information to get us started:

Folders:
Your child will have a traveling folder that goes home with them every day, and then returned to school so important information, forms, student work, etc has a safe way to travel to and from school! On the front cover it will have your child's name and I will help make sure that they get into back packs safely, especially during those first few weeks where many forms and mail gets sent home.

Clothing:
We are fortunate to have our own class bathroom in the back of our class! Accidents and spills happen, so bringing a change of clothes in a bag is encouraged! I will store them in your child's cubby. Please make sure the bag and clothing is labeled with your child's name on it.

School Food:
Before the school day begins, a breakfast period is provided for those who have not yet had breakfast and would like to have it at school. If you would like your child to have breakfast at school, I will be sending the forms home for you to fill out and then return back to school in your child's folder. We will also have a snack period where children will have time to have a snack or two from their lunchbox and chat with friends.

It can be confusing to experience the cafeteria and discovering how to get lunch from school. The lunch staff and myself will make sure that each of your children get lunch, especially during those first few weeks where everything is so new! It is very helpful if you have a discussion with your child to let them know if they are having lunch from home or eating school lunch. Salads and sandwiches are also options to choose from if your child prefers either of those instead of the hot lunch. There will be a form sent home for you to mark indicating what your child will be having for lunch each week.
